BFAIR Earns Three-Year CARF Accreditation
Tues. June 3, 2025 (North Adams, MA) – BFAIR (Berkshire Family & Individual Resources) received a three-year Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accreditation for their Day Habilitation and AFC (Adult Family Care) services. The accreditation extends through 2028.
During the accreditation process, the CARF surveyors noted that “this achievement is an indication of [BFAIR’s], dedication and commitment to improving the quality of the lives of the persons served. Services, personnel, and documentation clearly indicate an established pattern of conformance to standards.”
“Once again, the dedication and commitment of BFAIR’s staff and leadership team has shown through. To receive a three-year accreditation is outstanding and a true testament to the quality of services BFAIR provides”, said Ethel Altiery, Interim CEO of BFAIR.

About CARF
CARF International, a group of companies that includes CARF Canada and CARF Europe, is an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services. Through accreditation, CARF assists service providers in improving the quality of their services, demonstrating value, and meeting internationally recognized organizational and program standards. The accreditation process applies sets of standards to service areas and business practices during an on-site survey. Accreditation, however, is an ongoing process, signaling to the public that a service provider is committed to continuously improving services, encouraging feedback, and serving the community. Accreditation also demonstrates a provider's commitment to enhance its performance, manage its risk, and distinguished in its service delivery. (www.carf.org)
