BFAIR Purchases Building at 1000 Massachusetts Avenue

BFAIR Purchases Building

BFAIR is proud to announce the purchase of the building at 1000 Massachusetts Avenue in North Adams, home of the BFAIR Bottle & Can Redemption Center, effective January 9, 2026.

After acquiring the Redemption Center business in 2019, this purchase allows BFAIR to plan for long-term growth as redemption volume continues to increase—driven by new customers, expanded pop-up and pickup locations through our service van (sponsored by Adams Community Bank), and growing community bottle drives.

“This purchase gives us the opportunity to expand the space to better meet growing demand,” said Laura Baran, Senior Director of CBDS & Employment Services.

Planned improvements include additional workspace and a second can-counting machine—made possible with support from the Berkshire Bank Foundation—as well as future lobby reconfiguration to improve workflow and customer experience.

BFAIR is grateful for the opportunity to invest in North Berkshire and continue supporting the environment, the local economy, and meaningful employment for people with disabilities.
